actively holding discussions with Russia and Turkmenistan on the possibility of importing natural gas, Deputy Oil Minister and CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) Saeed Tavakkoli said at a press conference. The announcement was reported on Monday by Turkmenistan\u2019s official media.<\/p><p>According to Tavakkoli, Iran faces a gas shortage during the winter months that could reach 300 million cubic meters per day \u2014 and up to 350\u2013400 million cubic meters at peak times. In response, the country is implementing programs to reduce the deficit and improve gas supply efficiency.<\/p><p>Despite high domestic demand, Iran plans to maintain its export volumes at last year\u2019s levels. Gas exports to Turkey will continue through 2026, and negotiations are underway to extend current agreements.<\/p><p>Iran holds the world\u2019s second-largest proven natural gas reserves, approximately 34 trillion cubic meters, and produces more than 1 billion cubic meters of gas per day from 22 fields.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element
